How was Leslie involved in supporting your organizational goals, successes, or growth?

Leslie got involved fairly early on in my mandate at PWC. She helped us look at where we had come from and where we were going, what our vision for success was and the steps we needed to take to get there. From there we spent quite a bit of time with Leslie articulating what our goals would look like and then getting very specific about the steps that would get us there. She coached us and made sure that we always ended up back on the path when we drifted away from where we needed to go. She was always there to make sure that we got level set and back heading in the right direction.

What were your biggest learnings or what was the impact on your personal development as a leader?

The biggest impact that Leslie brought was the concept of keeping things simple and making them very easy for everyone to understand. The biggest piece too is that when we meet as a team we have such a range of people: from our most senior people to our most junior people. You want all of those people to go away understanding what they can do individually to help us reach our goals. Leslie did a very good job of helping us get that message articulated and develop an understanding that everyone would have about where we needed to go as a team.

What were the results, changes, or impact?

Last year we revisited our strategy and we came up with a very clear plan to take our office to 2020. Within that plan we came up with six steps to get us there and then we talked about the action items within those six steps and Leslie was absolutely instrumental in that process.

What wouldn’t have been accomplished had Leslie not been involved at your company?

I really think that we would have spent a lot of time spinning our wheels and a lot of time not looking at things from different perspectives. We’re all accountants, and we all think the same way. Leslie brought in a different dynamic, made us look at things from a different direction, and certainly got us where we needed to go much more quickly and more efficiently.

How would you describe what Leslie does?

She helps organizations identify their potential and then maps a strategy to reach that potential.
